welcome-text-6265315

We specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders such as panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorder; and mood disorders such as depression and anger management difficulties.

The Center currently offers primarily teletherapy services. To see if your state authorizes teletherapy services by Dr. Vincent Greenwood, click here

That was the question posed by the Washingtonian Magazine to mental health professionals in Washington D.C., Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland (Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Rockville, Silver Spring). Nearly 800 psychiatrists, clinical social workers, and therapists participated in the online interview. Dr. Vincent Greenwood was a top vote-getter in the category of cognitive-behavioral (CBT) therapist. He was also recognized as a leading expert in the treatment of clinical depression and anxiety difficulties such as panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and OCD.

Under Dr. Greenwood’s direction, the Center has also provided training to mental health systems and therapists in Washington, Arlington, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Silver Spring in reserach-tested CBT programs for depression, social anxiety, panic disorder, OCD and general anxiety disorder. In addition, the Center also strives to incorporate other empirically-supported therapy approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), to provide state-of-the-art integrative care.

Teletherapy involves therapy sessions via live video calls with a therapist. The content of the sessions is the same as for in-person sessions. Teletherapy is highly effective— as effective as in-person sessions, according to recent research.

We have noted that many clients, although initially reluctant, come to prefer teletherapy for the following reasons:

We can provide state-of-the-art services to people in over 40 states, rather than people within easy driving distance of the Center. Teletherapy also removes barriers for people who are unable to attend in-person sessions due to physical or medical reasons.

Teletherapy saves time. It brings treatment to you wherever you are and requires only the 45 minutes needed for a session. This enables those with demanding schedules and responsibilities to participate in research-tested treatments.

Teletherapy is private, comfortable, and fully compatible with the delivery of cognitive-behavioral therapy and other empirically-supported treatment programs.

The Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards has authorized Dr. Vincent Greenwood to provide telepsychology services under the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). As a result, he can offer teletherapy services for clients in any state covered by PSYPACT.
